Pre-bidding

Pre-bidding allows you to preview vehicles and place bids in advance of the live physical auction. As other bidders submit bids, your bid is automatically increased to the point that you become the high Internet bidder, or you are outbid by someone else. The Electronic Auctioneer will notify you via e-mail if you've been outbid. If so, you can quickly link to the Auction Center to check the current high bid and recent bid history, and place a higher bid, if you like. After online bidding closes, you will be notified via e-mail if you are the highest Internet pre-bidder.

Pre-Bidding / Proxy BiddingIf you are the high bidder when pre-bidding closes, your bid will be represented by proxy at the LIVE auction. Once local bidding exceeds your high Internet bid, IAA will bid for you by proxy until you become the high bidder at the LIVE sale and the vehicle is awarded to you, or until local bidding exceeds your maximum bid amount.

Pre-bidding includes a number of very useful tools. For example, you can use the Automatic Bidding feature by entering a maximum bid amount and the system will automatically increase your bid as other bidders outbid you. Your maximum bid amount is secret and not displayed to other bidders, so they don't know how high you're willing to bid to get the vehicle.

You can also manage and track all of your open bids through Manage Bids. This provides you with a snapshot of all your bid activity, bid amounts, the current high bid and whether or not you are currently the highest bidder. Convenient links allow you to select and review the vehicle's detail again or analyze the latest bid history--even raise your bid, if you like.
